Retail & Customer Service Associate – Part Time

Part-time | Between 15 & 30 hours per week

Sofie’s Floral & Gifts is looking for a friendly, dependable and hardworking person to join our team approximately 20 hours per week.

This is a hands-on position that combines customer service, retail, cleaning, flower and plant care, and general shop support. Floral design experience is not required. We are looking for someone who is great with people, willing to learn and comfortable jumping in wherever needed.

What You'll Do

• Provide friendly and helpful customer service in person and over the phone

• Help customers place floral and gift orders

• Operate our point-of-sale system and handle customer transactions

• Assist with retail merchandise, plants and gift items

• Process incoming flowers, including lifting and moving flower buckets

• Unpack, price and put away inventory

• Help maintain plants and fresh floral products

• Keep the sales floor, work areas and back room clean and organized

• Sweep, clean, take out garbage and complete other everyday shop-cleaning tasks

• Help the team with general shop projects and busy-day needs

What We're Looking For

The right person for this position will:

• Be warm, friendly and confident working with customers

• Have strong communication skills

• Be dependable and arrive ready to work

• Be comfortable answering phones and working with a computer/POS system

• Be able to stay productive without needing constant direction

• Be willing to clean and help with all aspects of maintaining the shop

• Be physically able to lift and carry full flower buckets, boxes and other shop inventory

• Be comfortable being on their feet throughout their shift

• Be available to work weekends

Previous retail, customer service, floral or plant experience is helpful, but not required. We are happy to teach the floral-specific parts of the job to the right person.

Sofie’s Floral & Gifts is a locally owned flower and gift shop in downtown Sequim. Our team helps customers celebrate, connect and care for the people in their lives through flowers, plants and thoughtfully selected gifts.

We are a small business, which means everyone on our team plays an important role. Some days may include helping a customer choose the perfect arrangement, while others involve processing buckets of flowers, watering plants, unpacking boxes or cleaning the shop. We are looking for someone who enjoys that variety and is willing to be part of the whole operation.

Schedule

Between 15 &30 hours per week.

Weekend availability is required. Additional availability during holidays and other busy floral seasons is a must.
