Pops & Picnic with the Symphony

The annual Pops and Picnic concerts, starring the Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra, are set for this Friday and Saturday night. Light-hearted classics and music from Broadway and the movies are all on the program. Leonard Bernstein's "Candide" overture, and Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain" are just two of the pieces. The Port Angeles and Sequim High School choirs will join the 65-member orchestra. Pops and Picnic starts at 7 o'clock Friday, Sept. 28, at the Vern Burton Community Center in Port Angeles and at 7 Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Sequim Boys and Girls Club. Bring your picnic supper and the Symphony provides soft drinks, dessert and live music. Tickets are 20 dollars at Port Book and News in Port Angeles, the Joyful Noise Music Center in Sequim, and at the door. Come early!
