Description

The River Center Film Series brings you “Fish War”, an Indigenous civil rights documentary produced by Northwest Treaty Tribes Media and North Forty Productions. The film uses rare archival footage and insight of activists on the front lines of the fight to trace the battle from its origins in the ’60s to today while interrogating what guaranteed fishing rights truly mean in the face of a climate crisis and human intervention. This thought provoking piece is told from the perspective of Western Washington tribes, including the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe. Josh Chapman, a Jamestown S’Klallam citizen, active fisher, and Chair of the Tribe’s Natural Resources Committee, will introduce the film and stay for a Q&A with the audience after. All proceeds support educational programs at the River Center.
